What We Do

Bethany Village is the first site selected by Alabaster Project Ministries to help the people of North West Africa build a better future and bring the loving word of God into their lives.

God has given Alabaster Project a holistic approach to ministry, both temporal (physical) and spiritual.

We are engaged in village evangelism with a strong emphasis on discipleship. We have seen lack of discipleship to be the greatest need for the body of Christ in this part of the world. To address this need have established discipleship meetings for the training of both pastors and lay leaders, this is done in the various villages, different days of the week. We have also developed personal (one on one) discipleship training. By hosting the discipleship meetings in the villages, we have created an environment whereby believers as well as non-believers can come together in a natural setting. Many of the meetings take place outside under the trees.

The focus of Alabaster Project is: proclaiming the gospel, making disciples, and sending them into all the nations. It was the last commandment given by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19. “Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations…”. To this end, God has given us several ways to reach the unreached with the gospel of peace and reconciliation. Medical outreaches (dental/eye care services), sports evangelism and helping the needy are a few examples of how God has guided us into creative ways by which to draw the unbelievers to hear the gospel. After hearing and receiving the good news, then the process of discipleship begins. Everything we do is intentional to evangelizing, making disciples and sending them into all the nations.

We have completed the first floor of a four story ministry building. This building will house a vocational school and missionary training school. The vocational school will cater for the young boys and girls who are without education, without family support and most often without hope. The ministry building will house the school for training missionaries who are called to reach the unreached peoples of the 10/40 window. The curriculum will include the teaching of skills that are relevant to the needs of the villagers such as: animal husbandry, fish farming, arts and crafts and a better way of raising crops. So, as you can see the ministry caters for the physical needs as well as the spiritual needs of the people that we have been called to, which are mainly unbelievers. We have a tremendous need for both short-term and long-term missionaries to come and run the various aspects of the ministry. We also need instructors for the various skills that we are going to teach as the vocational school. Please get in touch with us to find out how you can serve the Lord in the mission field.
