EYE CLINIC

Thanks to ChristWalk Church of Amelia Island, Florida and The Rock Church of Jonesboro, Arkansas whose combined contributions have enabled us to begin construction of an eye clinic. The building is well underway and is expected to be completed before the end of this year, 2008. The eye clinic is located next to the dental clinic, in Bethany Village. The eye clinic will accommodate surgical and diagnostic units. Construction requires a lot of water. Well, we normally get city water once a week; however we have gotten water only twice within the last 6 weeks. Using one of the BUV’s Moses has been going to the nearby river and transporting enough water, so that construction has been continuing without delay.

COMMUNITY HEALTH

Community Health Evangelism is truly a gift from God to his body. To share Christ and also help with health issues is the heart of compassion. Above is a picture of Elaine Goldstone teaching hygiene to the patients as they wait their turn to receive dental and eye care services.

BLISINGA

Issahaku and King pictured in front of his home in Blisinga. Issahaku is becoming a strong Christian, this is the same Issahaku saved from snake bite. Last month, we visited the believers of Blisinga and delivered used clothing and toys. There is nothing like celebrating Christmas all year long!

WIDOWS

Below are the widows and orphans of Cheshegu. We provided corn and peanuts to help sustain them.

Alabaster Project

It will be 4 to 5 months before the next harvest time. Cheshegu is one of 12 villages that we currently provide food for the widows and orphans.

15 PEOPLE BAPTIZED

Recently, in the Bognayali Village, Calvin (a missionary from South Korea) and I baptized 15 converts. To witness this experience was a gift from God. Pray for these new believers that they will be rooted and grounded in the word of God. They shall stand against persecution and that they will serve the Lord their God with all their soul, strength, heart and mind.

SUMMER HUT

Perhaps the most famous building in Bethany Village is the “summer hut”, our equivalent of the “tent of meeting”. Last February, our summer hut was burned to the foundation. Thank God that there were no fatalities. Two men were putting on a new thatched roof when the wire that they were using to bind the thatch, accidentally touched an electrical wire. The fire started and was over within minutes. We were refurbishing the summer hut and the roof was the last thing to be repaired. The new furniture which was donated last year by Pastor Kent Hawkins Sunday school class, Mount Paran Church, Atlanta, Georgia, was not burned.

“THANK YOU”

During our last visit to the U.S. we stayed in a total of 10 homes. It was a wonderful trip. We sincerely thank all of you for such great hospitality. May God continue to bless and keep you now and forevermore.
