UPDATE ON DANIEL SALIFU

Daniel Salifu was a muslim who dared to profess Jesus Christ as savior during a crusade held in Bogatanga, Ghana (Upper East Region). Today, Daniel is an evangelist who will preach Christ to anyone who will listen. Yes, Daniel has remained steadfast in the faith. Daniel has now become the farm manager for Alabaster Project Ministries. He is a trained agriculturist. He needs your prayers now more than ever. The enemy has sought to destroy his family relationships. But we know that greater is He that is in us than he who is in the world.

BRYAN ’S COTTAGE

In our last newsletter, we wrote about a cottage built in memory of Bryan Pendle, son of Bill and Ramona Pendle. Yes, Bryan’s Cottage is now ready for occupancy. The cottage is complete with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, livingroom/hall and bath.

BETHANY VOCATIONAL SCHOOL

The Bethany Vocational School is a vision given to us by God. It has been interesting how may obstacles that have come since we started last November with the digging of the foundation. We have encountered problems ranging from faulty equipment to unenthusiastic workers. All these things have only increased our faith and determination to go forward with the building of the school. There are four completed buildings at Bethany Village. We are confident that God will also provide for the school. The school is designed to give young teenage girls a hope for a better future than that of prostitution. The school will provide them with a marketable skill that will enable them to support themselves.

Also, the school will provide training for village pastors and their wives. We have realized that the need to disciple and train the pastors with the hope of helping them become more financially independent.

CHAPEL

After several years of working on the chapel here at Bethany Village we are happy to say that it is now finished and is in use. The chapel is a place for quiet meditations and intimate bible studies.

VILLAGE PASTORS

Last December, we had a discipleship training conference at Bethany Village. Pastor Zakaria, who has completed two years of discipleship training with Commission Ministries headed by Dr. Robert Stewart, taught the classes. Pastor Zake as we affectionately all him, is one of the District Pastors in the Northern Region. He invited all of his pastors to come and receive the same training that he has received. Keep praying for these pastors as they endeavor to disciple the members of their churches.

CHIEF OF YING SELLS LAND TO ALABASTER PROJECT

Fourteen acres of land has been purchased by Alabaster Project Ministries to be used in a farming project. The land will be used in conjunction with the Bethany Vocational School to teach animal husbandry and farming. Our goal is to teach the students as well as the village pastors more productive ways of farming and raising animals. In addition, we will also use part of the land to do aquaculture (fish farming).

RIVERS OR SEA?

If you will recall in our last newsletter, we mentioned as well at Bethany Village. Well, it is true that there is plenty of water (approximately 1,500-2000 gallons a day); however, the water is 10 times the normal salt consistency for drinking water. Yes, the water is so salty that it cannot be used for construction. So, unless there is a filtering system (that can remove all the salt) that can be brought to Bethany Village; it looks like the water will remain underground. Even so, we give thanks. Praise the Lord!

BENTON & ELYSE

Elyse celebrated her 7 th birthday last January. Can you believe it? Benton continues to be such an inspiration to us. We can truthfully say that we are gaining a greater insight of the love God the Father just by having him as part of our family.

In one of our newsletters, you will recall a picture of a puppy. Yes, he is real and his name is James. As some you may well know, Elyse WAS afraid of dogs (and cats). Through much prayer and with the help of James we are happy to say that she is becoming a real lover of dogs. We have added two more guard dogs to James- our beloved poodle.
