The population of the northern region of Ghana is about 2 million people with only one government employed dentist. Most of the people have never heard of or seen a dentist in their entire lives. Our organization is pushing to change this.
The Alabster Project has received training, supplies, and equipment to provide dentistry care at Bethany Village and the surrounding area. The need in the area of healtcare and dentistry in these regions is extremely high. If you or someone you know would be interested in supplying time, expertise, or funding your help would truely be an extension of Gods Love.
FarmingThe Ying Farm has been quite a learning experience. Farming with hoes and cutlass is totally different from farming with tractors and plows. We have experienced the favor of God during every activity. Currently, we are planning to raise animals in addition to crop farming. The Ying farm is part of the Vocational School program. ![]() The plight of village pastors continues to be a deep concern of ours. These pastors are usually very poor. They pastor congregations ranging from 10-40 people. The congregations are made up of farmers. Often, the members of the churches do not tithe and there is little or no money to support the work of the church much less a pastor’s salary. Many of the church buildings are not maintained properly. Many pastors have left, leaving the members without a shepherd. The Alabaster Project provides help and assistance to these local pastors and feels that spreading a sense of discipleship among the people of the region is of utmost importance. Peace Initiatives |
